Pointing to biblical truth, social science and intuition, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson asserts in the latest issue of Time magazine that children are better off with a mother and a father and that society should avoid the “untested” and “far-reaching social experiment” of homosexual parenting.

Harold Hoehner, distinguished professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, argued in a paper at last month’s national meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society in Washington, D.C., that pastor-teacher is a spiritual gift in the New Testament and not an office. Hoehner uses this argument to affirm women as pastor-teachers in the church.

The Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood will sponsor a half-day conference entitled “Different by Design: A Crucial Call to Faithfulness on Gender Issues” in February just prior to the annual Desiring God Pastor’s Conference (formerly the Bethlehem Conference for Pastors).
