The Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood is pleased to announce that Christopher Yuan is joining the organization’s council.

Yuan is an author, speaker, and professor who has focused much of his ministry articulating and defending the biblical view on issues of sexuality. His books include a memoir, Out of a Far Country: A Gay Son’s Journey to God, A Broken Mother’s Search for Hope and Holy Sexuality and the Gospel: Sex, Desire, and Relationships Shaped by God’s Grand Story, which was named 2020 Book of the Year for Social Issues by Outreach Magazine.

“I’ve known Christopher for about a decade and count him as a treasured friend and colleague,” said Denny Burk, president of CBMW. “His conversion testimony is one of the most compelling that you will ever hear. His writing and teaching about sexuality and gender are rooted in a rich understanding of the Bible’s teaching on these matters. The ‘Holy Sexuality Project’ in particular is one of the most valuable resources I have ever seen. We couldn’t be more excited about his joining the council.”

Yuan has recently produced a video curriculum called The Holy Sexuality Project. The resource contains twelve lessons aimed at teaching middle school and high school age students how to think biblically on issues related to sexuality and gender. The series can be found at holysexuality.com.

“Dr. Yuan’s captivating testimony and theological acumen combine to make him one of the most effective defenders of historic, biblical orthodoxy today,” said CBMW executive director Colin Smothers. “The spirit of the age is waging total war against the bedrock of human society: marriage and the family. But the Spirit and the Word will not be shaken. I am thrilled that Yuan has joined the CBMW council to help ensure the evangelical church remains true to her foundation and cornerstone, the Lord Jesus Christ and his Word.”

The council is comprised of men and women who align with the organization’s vision — including the Danvers Statement and the Nashville Statement — and who contribute to the ministry in a variety of ways.

Yuan is an adjunct professor at Moody Bible Institute, and his speaking ministry has reached five continents. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Wheaton College, and Bethel Seminary.
