Giving Tuesday

We at CBMW are so thankful for the opportunity to serve many Christians and churches around the world with resources, conferences, events, and teaching on biblical sexuality, the family, and manhood and womanhood. I heard Alistair Begg say recently in a Q and A, “that the greatest cultural challenge facing the church today is on the issue of sexuality and biblical manhood and womanhood.” I think he’s right. We are currently seeing a sexual revolution that is largely unprecedented in history.

As someone who benefitted immensely from the work of CBMW long before I came to work for this organization, I am very thankful that God positioned this organization, through the wisdom and foresight of many godly men and women twenty-nine years ago, to stand in this cultural moment which confronts the church.

But we still have more work to do. We have begun working to address the issues of human sexuality more directly. Over the next two years, we will be bringing Christian theologians, pastors, and leaders together to draft an evangelical consensus statement on biblical sexuality, which will build on the Danvers Statement. We believe biblical complementarianism is the biblical foundation for understanding biblical sexuality, so the issues are directly related. The statement would help provide biblical clarity on issues like same-sex attraction, sexual identity, and transgenderism. Much of our work is shifting to these issues and we are providing numerous resources which we believe will equip and encourage the church.
