Ronnie Floyd, president of the Southern Baptist Convention, will join an already full slate of speakers at the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood’s national conference next month.

The conference theme is “The Beauty of Complementarity,” and will take place April 11-12. Floyd will speak on Tuesday, April 12, giving a talk entitled, “How a Christian Father Raises Godly Sons.”

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Floyd speak for us. He is a man of strong character and conviction,” said Owen Strachan, president of CBMW. “As the SBC is a confessional denomination, we are grateful to have the denomination’s president as a part of our event. We believe that confessional movements will survive and even thrive in days ahead, despite the culture’s attempts to squelch principled dissidents.”

In addition to serving as SBC president for the past two years, Floyd has been the pastor of Cross Church in Northwest Arkansas since 1986. He has written a number of books, including Forward: 7 Distinguishing Marks for Future Leaders, The Power of Prayer and Fasting, and 10 Things Every Minister Needs to Know.

Floyd’s leadership in his church and within the SBC has been marked by a passion for missions, for prayer and revival, for training pastors, as well as a firm commitment to complementarian convictions.

He and his wife, Jeana, have been married for almost 40 years. They have two sons, both of whom are married, and seven grandchildren.

“We at CBMW love to see godly leaders who are first godly fathers,” Strachan said. “We believe Dr. Floyd’s message will call a generation to this primary commitment with power and fidelity.”

Registration for the CBMW conference is still open. All of the conference talk titles are available in advance of the conference.
