In the wake of last week’s SCOTUS rulings, many questions have arisen: how ought Christians react? What should we do? Moreover, how should Christian parents think about these decisions?
Since CBMW exists to equip Christians and churches to answer these and other questions related to gender and sexuality, we were happy to post the following pieces to help navigate our troubled cultural waters.
First, our President, Dr. Owen Strachan, wrote a piece titled The Supreme Court Has Ruled: What Should Christians Do? in which he explores 5 new realities, followed by 5 encouragements for Christians in which to engage. “May this Supreme Court decision awaken God’s people to display the beauty of complementarity as never before, to put the union of a self-sacrificial head to his loving bride on IMAX display wherever we are.”
Next, our CBMW Board issued an official statement regarding the Obergefell v. Hodges decision including 6 affirmations and a reaffirmation of our confessional bound, the Danver’s Statement.
Finally, our Executive Editor, Greg Gibson, wrote a practical piece for Christian parents entitled Parenting in a Gay Marriage World: What Should Christian Parents Do? If you find yourself thinking about what parenting after Obergefell looks like, we would highly recommend you to take up Gibson’s practical wisdom.
There will undoubtedly be many questions raised after Obergefell and we, as an organization, are here to help. Keep an eye on our blog and make sure you sign up for our mailing list to keep up with news and updates from the Council on Biblical Manhood & Womanhood in the days to come.
