The early church contended for truth over Christology. The Reformers contended for truth over soteriology. Today we contend for truth over anthropology – what it is to be human: distinctly male or female created in the image of God and all that this entails.

With that in view, the exhortation in Jude 3 “to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” is still relevant 2000 years later. And as in Jude’s day, some of the contentions have to do with professing Christians within the church.
