Thank you…

If you are reading this, it is likely because you are already familiar with the ministry of the Council on Biblical Manhood & Womanhood. Maybe you received a physical copy of our 2018 Year End Review, saw our #GiveCBMW campaign as a part of #GivingTuesday, or saw this post on our website. However you got here, we are glad you did!

With your continued support, prayers, and faithfulness, the ministry of CBMW was able to reach tens of thousands of pastors, families, churches, students, professors, and institutions in 2018. In 2019, we look forward to sharing even more of the glorious truths that the Bible makes clear regarding gender and sexuality. This ministry would not exist without you. So on behalf of the entire CBMW team, we say “thank you” for this ministry opportunity.

2018 Reflections

Our vision each year is to see more and more evangelical homes, churches, academic institutions, and other ministries adopt the Biblical principles of the Danvers Statement and the Nashville Statement as a part of their personal convictions and doctrinal confessions while applying them in consistent, heart-felt practice. Over the course of the past year, the boards of Southern Seminary, Cedarville University, Union University, Reformed Theological Seminary, and others have adopted the Nashville Statement as part of their confessional identity. Language from the statement has also been affirmed by the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, the Arkansas Baptist Convention, the Illinois Baptist State Association, and the Calvary Presbytery (PCA) in South Carolina.

A great deal of our 2018 efforts was connected to the vast interest that was piqued in relation to the Nashville Statement. As an organization, we were thrilled to either host or participate in events/conferences in 8 different states in the U.S. Thanks to our Director of International Outreach, Gavin Peacock, CBMW was also involved with global outreach conferences in Zambia and England.

Thanks to the high demand for resources related to the Nashville Statement, CBMW printed and/or distributed over 5,000 brochures, books, and other resources in 2018. These were mailed to pastors and churches across the world, given to attendees of our 2018 T4G Pre-Conference, and regularly requested by other like-minded ministry organizations. Evangelicals have only just begun to interact with the impact the Sexual Revolution is having on the church, and CBMW is doing its best to be a faithful voice and witness at the forefront of these conversations. To do this, we need your support — both in prayer and giving — as we aim to further equip pastors, churches, individuals, and institutions through our conferences and new resources. See this section of our website to see the wide range of free resources we offer to equip the church on these important issues.

Looking Ahead

In April 2019, CBMW will host an event at The Gospel Coalition national conference, where Kevin DeYoung will address “The Beauty of Complementarianism.” Our 3rd annual CBMW West Coast Conference in Southern California is set for May 2019. We also plan to speak at churches and ministries nationwide in the coming year. Visit our events page for updates, upcoming events, and to request a CBMW equipping event near you.

And speaking of new resources, we have two exciting projects on the horizon! The first is a new book. Many of you will be familiar with Recovering Biblical Manhood & Womanhood, which was edited by John Piper and Wayne Grudem. This book sought to address the controversy regarding gender-based role differences in a manner that built upon the foundation of the Danvers Statement. As 2019 draws near, CBMW is compiling together a parallel resource that will build upon the foundation of the Nashville Statement. A task of this magnitude will require a lot of time and resources.

In addition to this book project, after much demand and encouragement, CBMW will be bringing back a periodical journal in 2019. Visit CBMW.org/journal for updates & more information.
