The momentum continues at CBMW, and our aggressive slate of undertakings shows no signs of slowing up. We’ve seen a very strong response to our re-launched website, but we’ve got much more we want to do (with several more exciting announcements forthcoming in the fall!). In that spirit, on behalf of CBMW, I’m thrilled to announce the start of a new channel: Reviews.
Reviews will be our “theology lab” and will feature interaction with cutting-edge writing on gender, anthropology, sexual identity, and more. If you’ve wondered where to go to stay up to speed on the latest evangelical and cultural books on gender, here it is: CBMW Reviews.
On this channel, Lead Editor Dave Schrock and Assistant Editor Sam Emadi will engage content and review books from a gospel-driven perspective rooted in biblical theology. This team has some serious horsepower: Dave studied under Steve Wellum at Southern Seminary for his PhD in systematic theology, and Sam is studying under Jim Hamilton at SBTS as he completes his PhD in biblical theology. I am thrilled to welcome them to the CBMW family and hope that you will as well.
In coming days, you’ll hear more from the editors of Reviews about their vision for the channel. For now, here’s a snippet about each of them:
Dr. David Schrock (@DavidSchrock) pastors Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour, Indiana. A two-time graduate of Southern Seminary (M.Div., Ph.D.), David has written and reviewed books for The Gospel Coalition, Credo Magazine, and PureHope Ministries. He also blogs at Via Emmaus.
David is married to Wendy. They have two energetic boys—Titus and Silas. Now that he is done with school, he reads unassigned books and anticipates his youth coaching debut this Fall.
Sam Emadi is a Ph.D. candidate in Biblical Theology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Sam and his wife Corrie Ann have one son and are members at Hopewell Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.
You, too, can help support the ministry of CBMW. We are a non-profit organization that is fully-funded by individual gifts and ministry partnerships. Your contribution will go directly toward the production of more gospel-centered, church-equipping resources.
This new curriculum is aimed at Christians who are facing challenging questions with the rise of LGBT ideology on topics like homosexuality, transgenderism, gender dysphoria, intersex conditions, preferred pronouns, and more. The study is broken down into eight chapters that guide readers through the Bible’s teaching on gender, sexuality, and marriage. Male & Female He Created Them gives Christians with a biblical foundation that starts in Genesis 1 and 2 with God’s good design in making mankind male and female in His image.
Male & Female He Created Them: A Study on Gender, Sexuality, & Marriage can be purchased online at Christian Book, Christian Focus, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
